Chili Maya - With Meat

 

a mildly spiced chocolate chili seasoned with Chili Maya* Chili Seasoning Mix

 

 Ingredients:


You will need:
1) 1 14 oz. can of tomato sauce
2) 2 14 oz. cans of beef broth
3) 1 14 oz. can of kidney beans
4) 1 squeeze bottle of honey
5) 1 bottle of apple cider vinegar
6) 2 lbs. 93% lean ground beef
7) 1 bulb of fresh garlic or a jar of peeled fresh garlic
(Do not use minced garlic in a jar or garlic powder)
8) 1cup chopped Vidalia onion
9) 1 bag of fat free shredded mild cheddar cheese
10) 1 pkg. saltine crackers and or blue corn chips
11) 1 bottle of hot sauce (optional)
12)1 28 oz can of diced tomatoes (optional)

Directions:
1-Pour tomato sauce, beef broth, kidney beans, and the secret spice blend into a stock pot
2-Brown 2 lbs. of ground beef
3-Break down a bulb of garlic and peel 3-6 cloves from that bulb
4-Mince the garlic using a knife or a garlic press
5-Peel and chop one medium onion
6-Add onion to ground beef and saute until onions are tender
7-Add garlic and saute briefly, being careful not to overcook the garlic
8-Pour ground beef, onions and garlic into the stock pot
9-bring to a boil, then turn the heat to medium
10-add 2-5 tbsp. honey and 1-4 tbsp. vinegar ( to taste )
11-add drained petite diced tomatoes
12-pour into bowls and top with shredded cheddar cheese and serve with saltines


Offer the following add ons (serve on the side):
Hot sauce, blue corn chips, mild shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, fresh onions

TIP: chili tastes better if cheese is sprinkled on each bite rather than topping the entire bowl of chili with cheese
